Recommended Posts

A big thumbs up for fantastic service: 2 x MDVs ordered on Monday and delivered this morning, thank you.  So pleased to see these kits available again - I shall very much look forward to being able to order crabs and lampreys in due course.

Thanks again and very best wishes,

Paul

A suggestion.

Is there a way to buy in bulk but without multiple numbers of instructions (which are on the website anyway if needed) and packaging?

Order incoming but just trying to save the planet a little bit!

Mike.

Currently they are all packed individually. If you wish for us to reduce the packaging for multiple kits on your order, we can do that. Best email us the order at sales@five79.co.uk

all the best,

Matt

Just to praise the superb service!  Ordered a brace of kits (MDV and Tunny) yesterday at 14:25, got the despatch notification at 16:06 and the two kits (with very nice mouldings indeed) have just popped through the letterbox here.  Excellent, you’ll be getting more of my money at this rate!

Same here. I ordered the LNER coal wagon yesterday afternoon. It was delivered by Royal Mail (not our usual Dolly but a stand-in who delivered a bit later than normal at about 11:15. In between tinkering with the car I did some odd modelling jobs, I even got the kit built by about 16:00.

Likewise .....would just like to say thankyou for the excellent prompt service, placed an order very early yesterday morning for x7 N gauge OTAs which I have literally waited years to get hold of some and was pleasantly surprised to find them in my post today. I'd like a few more soon, along with some Tube wagons....just need a few more pennies ! :scratch_one-s_head_mini:

Ian.

Bring on the Lamprey!

There are coming, I'm moulding brake levers currently for the five remaining variants of the ballast wagons which all take the same ones. I am juggling various products in different scales all at the same time though, so estimate at a guess sometime October for the remaining ballast wagons.

I don't usually go for the 'me too' posts, but credit where it is due.

I ordered x2 RC443 - GWR 20T Ballast Wagon (Tunny) Dia P23 kits at 22:00 on Tuesday, and they arrived first thing this morning. The parts are beautifully crisp, good instructions and the unexpected bonus of a bag of whitemetal buffers/vac cylinder and brass coupling hooks.

Thank you Five79, I'm very impressed and will be returning for more!

Regards,

Andy.

I rather fancy one of those pigeon brake vans!  They were not used exclusively for pigeon traffic, and only needed to be swept out to be available for normal parcels use; BR classed them as ‘BY’.  Conversely, many ‘normal’ NPCCS vans could be used for pigeon traffic; the main requirement was fold-down shelving to stow the baskets, which of course had to be returned empty to their owners.  Thus BGs, GUVs, CCTs, PMVs, Southern bogie B, BYs, BZs, Pythons, bogie Siphons, were all suitable for pigeons.

I’m a big fan of BR steam era NPCCS, for the variety, and the filth.  It is a first class excuse to include Gresley, Thompson, Stanier, Maunsell, and earlier main line profile stock on a small BLT.

No.  He gets a whole Shakespeare speech about how it’s not his fault and everybody let him down.   Henry I doesn’t get a Shakespeare play but is, according the chronicles, the victim of death by ‘a surfeit of lamphreys’.  Probably preferable to what happened to Edward II...

I've looked it up it an you're right Johnster. Apologies from this History graduate!

King John did however die of Dysentery, which is not too dissimilar a fate to dying of Lampreys, as I understand it. What a last week he must've had - losing the crown jewels then passing away from a severe case of dickey tummy!
