Hi all,

 

Looking for photos shoiwing the chassis/underframe modifications.

 

Whilst the RTR coaches look good, the underframes needs a lot to be upgraded.

 

Photos/links would be useful to work from.

Any particular coaches?  If you have the six digit number starting with '9' - I may have some.

OK - Coach numbers...,

 

977996, 977994, 977993, 975814, 977984 are the coaches being modelled.

 

I've been at Departmentals.com and found the photos on there.

Sorry, are you saying you no longer need additional pics, or are you saying there are pics on depratmentals.com but you need more?

 Yes - I still need photos.

 

The photos on departmentals.com are useful but don't show the underframe detail I am looking to model.

I've not photted 977996.  I've got both sides of 993 and one side only of the others.  They've been tweaked in Photoshop to show the underframes better which makes the yellow a bit off, but I guess that's not a problem in this instance.

Hi there,

 

Those photos are a great help.

 

Looks like no heavy duty carving, mainly a case of replacing some of the access hatches with grills plus a couple of boxes to make.

There is one coach that has lasers/lights pointing at the track, 997993, I cut down the underframe box on the coach I modified, added a piece of box section and LED lights to it 

 

 

I added a decoder to it too, the lights can be switched on and off separately to the interior lights (each individual coach has a decoder in) 

 

 

some of the coaches have underframe lights too for spotting mileposts, again I used leds, surface mount type, just drilled little holes in the frame and glued them in from behind, my coaches

I m doing 997993 and will be doing much the same add ons as you have.

 

Just been working out the roof and underframe cuts before starting to chop things up.

Hi Paul,

 

Yes - I have visited and had a good look - useful photos of all the coaches I am modelling.

 

Just started the prep work - more to show later - as long as everything goes well.
