Popular Post NorthBrit
Sacks of grain have arrived at Hudson Ward Flour Millers and George Clarke is closing the wagon door. A new backscene of warehouses typical to the Sovereign Street area of Leeds have been added to give an enclosed, almost claustrophobic feel as I remember it as a lad. 19

You don't know the driver he is renowned for his terrible parking (and driving come to that). Reckons he learnt to drive during the war. He did not say which war, or what he learnt to drive on (the lads think it was probably a donkey).

That reminds me of when I was a Transport Manager for a large road haulage company. A letter arrived on my desk from a certain Cumbrian Council. They wanted payment for damage and renewal of pavement done by one of our wagons that had parked in a narrow street. The driver admitted parking in the street for a short while to deliver goods. That weekend I was passing the street whilst on other business. Several cars were parked on the pavements ether side of the street. I spoke to a number of shopkeepers there they all said the pavements had been broken for a number of years by cars having to park to allow traffic to pass. Our Solicitors had a 'field day' arguing with the Council.
RMweb Gold Popular Post Right Away Posted October 10, 2020 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted October 10, 2020 (edited) The Other Side of the Tracks Fancying a different perspective to view the model but restricted as it runs beside a wall, I toyed with using the reflection in a shaving mirror (no jokes please!). Bit of post processing jiggery pokery to flip and straighten the image and we’re the other side of the tracks. See attached pic for set up taken with a separate iPhone although the main image used the mirror and a “proper camera”.
