RMweb Premium MrTea Posted August 3, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 3, 2020 Has anyone tried these out? E.g. http://shop.model-fab.com/en/sbb-bls/659-02-8436579380342.html I’m considering adding working signals to Veja Megstra to control the exit to the loop and these look to be a good match for those used on the RhB from what I can see. I can’t see anywhere in the UK that stocks them?
RMweb Premium JimFin Posted August 3, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 3, 2020 Cannot answer the question - but lot more detail and info here that may help. They do not list any UK suppliers on their website but you can buy direct from them in Spain.
RMweb Premium MrTea Posted August 17, 2020 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted August 17, 2020 I've decided to take the plunge so I've ordered a couple from DM Toys in Germany. I'll let you know how I get on when they arrive. This is the scene I'm trying to replicate that the northern end of the layout: The signal on the left looks to be a 3 aspect signal with the bottom light blanked out.
RMweb Premium MrTea Posted August 23, 2020 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted August 23, 2020 These little beauties arrived on Wednesday: I'd recommend the service from DM Toys, easy to shop and shipped very promptly by UPS. They have extremely fine wires coming out of the base so I'll need to be extremely careful when installing them. I found this video on YouTube showing the HO versions being installed on a layout: I'll need some switches but I'm also wondering about whether to look into some form of interlocking with the turnout switch from the loop. cornish trains jez
Hi, Just checked out the range. There's a good selection for N gauge. Might have to invest for Konigsbrucke! Thanks for sharing, I had no idea these were around. Certainly echo your comments about DM Toys, a great shop with excellent service and prompt delivery. Best regards, Jeremy
RMweb Premium MrTea Posted February 22, 2021 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted February 22, 2021 Here’s what the Mafen SBB type signals look like when installed and lit. Green aspect Red aspect The only thing I’ve added is the white identification plate, printed using a suitable font on our home printer. Overall view for scale: I do need to try and find a suitable 3-way switch to manage this end of the loop. Although it’s a nice idea I think interlocking with the turnout might be a bit beyond me.
