BACHMANN EUROPE ANNOUNCE NEW PRODUCTS FOR AUTUMN 2020 and a NEW BRAND!

Bachmann Europe Plc today announced several new products across its Bachmann Branchline, Graham Farish and Scenecraft ranges, catering for consumers with an interest in N and OO scale model railways. Full details of every new item are published in the British Railway Announcements catalogue which is available exclusively with the Bachmann Times – the official magazine of the Bachmann Collectors Club – and these products are set to be released during the next three months.

In addition, Bachmann Europe launched its all-new brand – EFE Rail – led by a new motorised version of the popular EFE 1:76 scale (OO) London Underground Tube Train. This much-requested model is joined by a number of other Great British Model Railways to complete the launch range for EFE Rail. With a rich heritage in supporting traditional model and hobby shops, the launch of EFE Rail further reinforces our commitment to Bachmann stockists in giving them access to many products that they otherwise would not have been able to stock.

The initial range includes numerous OO and N scale locomotives and wagons which have been produced in collaboration with third parties, such as Kernow Model Rail Centre and Heljan, to make these products accessible via Bachmann Europe Stockists for the first time. The majority of the new EFE Rail items are due to be released later this month and, like all Bachmann products, can be ordered from any Bachmann stockist.

Ribble Cement Class 17 and the Army #92 "Waggoner" J94 are most interesting....Must get me pre-orders in!

PS: With KMRC taking over the J94 and Class 17 tooling, I hope they have done a thorough inspection of the CAD, tooling and samples in order to improve them.

On second thoughts, the prices are now insane, I don't have the money to shove out for the kind of prices I see. The RRP for some of the models are questionable.

absolutely delighted with the 17.

I'm assuming the Mermaids are the ex-DJM models, not sure about  the 17?

Best

WOW! Bachmann really surprised me with this one. Some former DJM items creeping in there I wonder?

At last that famous class 17 and a re-appearance of the J94 (if ex DJM, did they upgrade the motor?).

Rather surprised to see the Heljan Hymek in there.

I've no particular interest in the Northern Line stock, but what a wonderful move!

Dare I ask if the J94, the 17 and the Mermaid wagon are from a certain defunct manufacturer?

The 35 looks good, will be interesting to compare it to the Heljan version - I could be in the market for 1 or 2 of these.

Wow, exciting announcement. Lot's of D&E in there!

Very excited about the tube train. I wonder if a Central Line version might follow?

In the Youtube video I am sure it said the motor was upgraded.

Can I ask what is the difference between EFE and Bachmann?  Is it like Hornby with Railroad?  Not sure I quite understand

I’m impressed but also confused. Are these models manufactured by Bachmann having purchased tooling from other companies, or are they just commissioning and selling special editions like a retailer?

It is an upgraded coreless motor and will feature a Next18 socket.

Seems to be limited editions from other manufacturers. None of the items announced are actually Bachmann products, they all have their roots elsewhere - EFE (prior to being bought by Bachmann), Heljan, KMRC (ex-DJM) etc.

The video distributed to Bachman Collector's Club members and the trade.

I am pleased with the JIAs, I will probably be having a few of those. Glad I didn't buy some second hand ones for what they were going for!

I have to admit, the lines seemed a little blurred on the reuse of Heljan tooling and who owns what looks to be the ex-DJM tooling?

The models are manufactured by the original factories, Kernow/EFE owning the rights to produce and distribute to the trade. It's separate from Bachmann/Farish but utilises their marketing and distribution capabilities. The Heljan Hymek is an additional product in the mix, still manufactured by Heljan's factory but opening up the distribution to retailers who may not be Heljan stockists.

But doesn't Bachmann own EFE, so that is a little different to Kernow?

Yes, Bachmann bought EFE in 2016 which included the Underground stock plus there's the vehicles still under that branding. This is a different concept in some ways so I can understand people needing a bit of time to get their heads around it but I can see the logic - non-Bachmann products available via Bachmann stockists (similar to all the plastic kit and tool ranges they distribute) that are not manufactured by Kader.
