Model Shop advice

Near me there is a model shop for sale, and I am hoping that there maybe people on this forum who could help provide some general advice on opening and running a small model shop.

Currently, it seems to obtain stock via AB Gee, the wholesaler, as although it carries some Hornby/Airfix/Humbrol etc, it is not listed as a Hornby stockist, nor does it carry Bachmann or other major brands. Needless to say, that is something I would like to change and improve on, if possible.

While there is some advice available regarding opening and running a retail store, there obviously isnt much in the way that is specific to Model Shops. And my past experience in the retail industry was for large chains, so not necessarily relevant.

Could anyone who is willing to help advise me of things such as minimum order values, terms and conditions etc - plus any other advice on things like stock turnover etc help? Naturally, via DM if necessary.

Thanks,
