This is my 7th RHTT season here in west Wales and it's always been EWS/DB 66's from Margam as no-one else seems interested in bidding.  Am running out of places to phot, so today tried Llansamlet (Swansea).  66.813/186 work 3S62 Margam-Margam.

Two weeks in and 4 different locos (at least) already, bring back the 20's !!

The North-West 3J11 had 6 locos within the first week..... 2x66, 2x68 and 2x66

And it's been the same pair since with 66421/66126.

Still haven't managed to get a daytime shot of these last two

I’ve got a Bachmann Windhoff MPV and I was wondering if they have been  used in the East Anglian and Lincolnshire areas recently?  I’ve only seen one in the Peterborough and Spalding area in the last few years and looking on Flickr, I’m beginning to think that their operating area is basically 3rd rail systems.

They also work the circuits around the north west from Wigan LIP, which takes one into West Yorkshire for a couple of reversals. This is the relevant diagram;

Can anybody shed light on why Freightliner are currently converting 8 FRA flats for RHTT work.

Are these to supplement the Network Rail FEAs?

It's reported in Rail Express (Nov 2020) and there are photos on Carl Watson's site.  The converted wagons are finished in G&W Freightliner grey with the orange logos.

Thanks for any information.

Chris

As it was a nice sunny day in this part of West Yorkshire on 4th November 2020 and this was likely be the last opportunity that I can get out for a bit, it was too good an opportunity to miss.

So working 3S14 around West Yorkshire, here is the pairing of 37419 'Carl Haviland 1954-2012' and 37423 'Spirit of the Lakes', in RHTT livery.  First at Ravensthorpe about to join the three track section passing on through Mirfield...

... and then after reversal at Huddersfield, heading back east at Heaton Lodge.

I'll tip my hat to Accurascale if they can replicate the weathered RHTT look on any of their forthcoming release of class 37/4s.

A carefully-timed trip to the supermarket at Rotherham Parkgate led to this - 37402 and 37407 heading towards Sheffield earlier today, adding a bit more moisture to a foggy morning:

Mobile phone shot, so I think the shutter speed was a bit low. Still, I've taken worse.
