signalnorth
This is my new project. It's 5' 3" x 15.5 " There ill be a separate non scenic cassette system too. Construction is Foam-board grid mounted with Hardboard (RESULT = very light but strong ! ) i''ve used this in the past with great success) It has two 2x1 on the sides for bracing. Its an urban freight yard in the sixties set down below the level of the nearby roads. The exit from the yard will take the line under a road . Imagine the stonework and cuttings around Kirkdale tunnels and the busy-bustle of Huskisson and that's the feel I'm aiming for . Stone sets in the yard, weeds starting to appear and the yard staff with one eye on a new job considering the amount of traffic they've lost to road these last few years . That's the general idea anyway! Points will be wire in the tube and the layout will be wired for possible future conversion to DCC. Might need some advice on this! Anyway that's it for now.

signalnorth
I had to do some remedial work on the stone sets as they were fouling the brake rods on the Panniers. Lifted a couple and superglued them down firmly. Now all ok! Got some stock on the layout last night

RMweb Gold Sweet pea Posted November 10, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 10, 2020 Hi your yard layout is coming along nicely. I like how you have captured the untamed long grass on the embankments. The yard lights go with the yard theme nicely.
signalnorth
Cheers Kevin. Two of the yard lights are modified street lights that I got on Ebay dirt cheap from China I think
