Pillar
Does anyone know where I might be able to source some reducers (brass or similar) with a 2mm external diameter and 1mm internal diameter? Preferably, the internal diameter should be slightly less than 1mm for a snug/interference fit. I'm trying to convert a DMU to P4 wheelsets, but it's designed to take non-standard 1mm diameter axles which is making it impossible to source wheels that fit directly. I've seen reducers for 1/8" to 2mm, but nothing smaller so far. Cheers, Liam

RMweb Gold Enterprisingwestern Posted September 15, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 15, 2020 2mm X 1mm tube is easily available, can be drilled/reamed to size. Mike.
Pillar
Thanks both, I'll give that a go. I wasn't sure whether normal brass tube would be accurate enough in terms of concentricity.

Not used 2 X 1, but in times long ago brass tube was about the only way to EM diesels and seemed satisfactory then, perhaps n/s might be better if you have doubts? Mike.
