RMweb Gold Phil Bullock Posted February 14, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted February 14, 2021 Thanks to both @mark54 and @Kirby Uncoupler for their help and advice with this project. The Comet sides have now arrived. The initial thought was to just replace the corridor side etch and leave the SP etch on the kitchen side. Then I noticed the Comet etch has framed windows - and the SP one doesnt. But the Comet kitchen side doesnt have the 4 small vent grilles that I had just fitted to the SP kitchen side! Ho hum.... so given no-one will ever see both sides of the coach at the same time I am minded to leave plan as is and fit the Comet etch on the corridor side and leave the SP etch on the kitchen. Just got to suss how to get the hinges on to the Comet etch - there are no etched holes as on the Mousa Models ones. Roof is now corrected - thanks Mark = so its back to building the bar area and thinking how I might try replicating the very 60s decor in that area as seen in Parkin. Thanks again both
mark54
Phil, there is some interior film of the bar area and standing area in this Pathe film, that may be useful. It is the last feature. You can also view as stills which is useful. https://www.britishpathe.com/video/railway-rolling-stock-exhibition-at-marylebone/query/railway+stock
The Evil Bus Driver
I've just obtained a mk1 coach kit on the Bay of E. If Peco does buy anything the I hope these would be included as, having now obtained a CK I now require two BSKs to form the rake.
