Hopefully this thread will be of use to others in the same position Thanks
RMweb Gold Mick Bonwick Posted September 29, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 29, 2020 You're about to be inundated with views, options and preferences. My suggestion is: Humbrol acrylic no. 72 - matt leather Humbrol acrylic no. 33 - matt black MIG Productions Dark Wash Ultimate acrylic thinners for the paints White spirit to thin the wash Abteilung 502 ABTP033 Dark Mud pigment Mix the two acrylic paints in varying proportions to obtain the main underframe colour and thin to suit before applying. Apply the wash to the seams in the bodysides to represent the dirt build-up, thinned to help the capillary action take it into the detail. When all the paint is dry, apply small amounts of the pigment in the places where rust might be starting. Work from photographs, don't imagine. Good luck and have fun.
