RMweb Gold Popular Post Accurascale Fran Posted September 29, 2020 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted September 29, 2020 We are delighted to announce the latest addition to our growing team; industry legend Graham Hubbard as Business Development Consultant. Mr. Hubbard was the long serving Managing Director of Bachmann Europe Ltd., with the company formed in 1989 and becoming one of the biggest names in the model railway scene under his stewardship throughout the 1990s and 2000s. During that time the Graham Farish and Lilliput brands came under Graham's brief too, forging ahead in the British N gauge and continental markets as well as OO gauge with the branchline range. Before his time as Bachmann MD, Mr. Hubbard ran the very successful Eastern Models, who served as importers and distributors of models such as the Bachmann US range for over 15 years. Graham stepped down from his role as Bachmann Europe Chief 2015 after 26 very successful years in the hot seat, and since then has concentrated on his railway preservation work with the Heavy Traction Group, among others. However, he has been itching to get back into the model railway industry and is keen to help us progress as a business with his wisdom and industry experience. Speaking about his position with us, Mr. Hubbard outlined his excitement about his new role; “Accurascale entered the market a couple of years ago but have already made a tremendous splash with many excellent models already delivered and lots more exciting projects underway. I’m delighted to be joining the Accurascale team to assist them with their future development and giving them the benefit of my experience and background. I cannot wait to get started!” Commenting on Accurascale's latest team member, MD Stephen McCarron stated: "We are thrilled to have such a respected, well versed and knowledgeable colleague join our growing team. That Graham can support Accurascale is, we feel, a huge endorsement of our approach and plans!" Graham now joins Paul Isles, formerly of Hornby, and Gareth Bayer, previously of Rapido Trains Inc. in our team, all bringing a tremendous wealth of experience to guide us on our goal to becoming a significant industry player delivering accurate and high quality railway models at a reasonable price. We look forward to seeing the fruits of their work in the coming months and years and we are sure you will be too! 31 2 1 8

RMweb Gold TravisM Posted September 29, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 29, 2020 With Graham Hubbard joining the team, as well as Paul Isles, with both their combined insider knowledge of the workings of both Bachmann and Hornby, I’m pretty sure there’s some interesting meetings going on in their boardrooms. I wish Accurascale all the best and grow from strength to strength. Interesting times ahead.

wombatofludham
I already commented on your Faceache posting that you have assembled a seriously challenging team to take on the competition. The expertise, especially in the D+E market, is really encouraging for those of us who prefer our trains without a large tea urn on the front or preferably with a coathanger strapped to the roof. I think it also shows a strong determination to take on the UK market and hopefully allow you guys to spend a bit more time on the Irish side of the business. Now on Faceache I mentioned the NIR Mk2b/c fleet and their BR counterparts, so I'll mention them again. Crossover product, missing link in the BR carriage lists, you know it makes sense... 1

RMweb Premium 7013 Posted September 30, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 30, 2020 (edited) Accurascale, Cavalex etc. all producing high quality superb models that the modeller want to own, retailers like Kernow, Hattons and Rails all commissioning excellent models The traditional manufacturers Like Hornby, Dapol and Bachmann should be looking over their shoulders. Definite winds of change. Edited September 30, 2020 by 7013 4

Bachmann Midland 1P Farish 8F Bachmann 94xx Add in EFE Rail plus coaches/wagons So, a sweeping generalised bit of misinformation takes me 5 minutes to check and type - just so I don't see incorrect tropes go unaddressed. Anyway, this is an Accurascale topic so it's even more annoying to see the repetition of misinformation. 6 2
