RMweb Premium keefer Posted October 28, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 28, 2020 For such a plain little box, the 73s did look good in Intercity livery - although i prefer the half-black ends. And that's a hell of an overhang on the Longmoor shunter, very ungainly looking for a Sentinel. Combined with the wheel layout, I don't suppose it would be great on sharp curves

RMweb Premium ba14eagle Posted October 30, 2020 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted October 30, 2020 A visit to the Bluebell Railway for today's first batch At Horsted Keynes, a morbid platform relic. At the South end of Sheffield Park is the Bluebell's main locomotive shed, seen above the arrived train. RMweb Premium ba14eagle Posted November 6, 2020 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted November 6, 2020 The early 1980's saw me start secondary school and with quite a few of us spotters starting there, a railway club started up. A Summer Sunday saw the railway club travel, by train, to the West Somerset Railway. Shortly after departing Trowbridge, we went straight on at Bradford Jn and headed towards Melksham and Chippenham. This was before the re-opening of Melksham station and started us wondering how far this diversion was going to send us. Not very far, as it turned out, for our 3 car DMU changed direction at Thingley Jn and headed off down the main line towards Box Tunnel and Bath. These are my 126 instamatic shots from that day. First, the former Admiralty stores at Melksham. Closely followed by the rear of Leekes superstore! Approaching Box Tunnel - didnt you just love the view from behind the driver on a DMU? Exiting Box Tunnel Our train was headed by a class 14 diesel hydraulic. Some of the other items of traction we saw: Finally, the well known form of Blue Anchor signalbox
