TEAMYAKIMA
With all exhibitions cancelled (and being part of two exhibition only layout teams) I have spent my time on various hobby activities. My last was to sell over 70 items on ebay on behalf of Twickenham MRC in just 3 weeks. Now, today, 99% of the bays items have been sold, packed up and taken to the post office and so I had a void in my life - nothing to do - bored! So decided to sort out my collection of screws into a storage box - that's how bored I was! What horrible job do you only tackle when you're REALLY bored?? grahame
Bored? How can you be bored with this wonderful hobby? I don't find any modelling activity horrible. I've been undertaking project research and making models, both scratch-built and kit-built this year. It's kept me active and interested, and has been enjoyable and prevented any boredom setting in. 4

RMweb Gold Enterprisingwestern Posted October 5, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 5, 2020 You can't be bored unless you don't have a roundtuit pile or a kit mountain, and if you haven't, you can't call yourself a proper railway modeller!! I suppose you have a selection of appropriate S&DJR books for that? 3 hours ago, Phil Parker said: To bored to bother to turn off your caps lock key when typing in a title. On the other hand, people do seem to be loud when then complain about being bored :-) Luckily the messy screw/nail/other bits n bobs draw is something even boredom has not led to me sitting down and sorting. I would rather be bored :-) 1

Nearholmer
I’m reading into this, possibly incorrectly, that Mr Yakima isn’t espoused, because if he was, he would be deeply grateful for a bit of boredom, on the basis that one never gets time to be bored when working through a long list of jobs set by one’s nearest and dearest. 1 6 5
TEAMYAKIMA
I am most certainly espoused and I have spent a load of money over the last 18 months to make sure that most of those jobs have been dealt with by people who know what they're doing - decorating, carpentry etc. All I'm left with is 'keep the place tidy'
Nearholmer
Hmmm .......... I could lend you two children and a small, but exceedingly lively, dog. They will wreck the place for you in very short order, leaving a fulfilling list of things to do. Would that help?
