LNER K3 No. 227 - Experimental Foam Indicator.

Does anyone have any photos of K3 No. 227 fitted with experimental foam indicator kit?

 

I've a pic of the LH in B Haresnape's 'Gresley Locomotives, and I've found a pic of the LH side from RCTS (See below). I could use copies any other photos that are available, particularly any pics from above or from the rear right.

Yes, the bit of kit sat in front of the dome. It was fitted in 1936 and intended to give the crew warning of priming.

There are some good pictures of the loco with this equipment in Yeadon's Register of LNER Locomotives Volume 8 which covers the K3s.

Fitted 1936 to 39 I believe. I've just started on the CAD work for the kit to fit the Bachmann model.

Thanks. Not sure why, but the K classes seem to have passed me by. Pity really as they are an impressive medium sized loco. Perhaps one day!
