Ref push fit choc block.

Yep I've just been using them on my build just one thing; remember to have the live feed to the female side just in case you separate them while the power is on.

I also have coloured one end of the block to polarise them as I have them hanging free under my boards and not screwed down like Andy's.

The wires are bound in spira-wrap and they are attached to the board underneath via self adhesive cable retainers.

Best

Thanks Barnaby, Great Info.:good: although I have never thought about the polarity aspect and never had any issues with that side of things.

Discovered that the hard way with mains aged about 10!!!

Paul.

P.S. Don’t try this, I may have got away with it as I have very dry skin.

Been meaning to ask for a while . . .

Do these work as a friction fit, or do screws needs to be tightened/loosened every time you split the boards?

Paul.

Friction fit, Paul. Only two sets of screws on the outermost rows.

This morning I made a start on the Embankment along the rear. Firstly with some bits of Cereal packet and then with a splodge of paint, before the Flockage, (as Al would say) goes on.

The Wallage may well have some more stones removed from the tops yet, but I will see once I start the Flocking.

A quick update from this morning. I only spent an hour on BBB today, but managed to get the Hot Glue Gun to do it's stuff and with some more Cereal packet fitted the front Embankment once  a bit of scrap wood was found and cut to shape to form the Frontage, I do like a good Frontage.:o:laugh::good:.

I've also taken a few more bits off the top of the walling, but will now wait until it is Flaockaged behind before doing any more.

A couple of little jobs this morning after 11's.

First a Running Session to test everything again.

Then I decided to do a centre support for the Bridge, I know it probably wouldn't need one, but it now acts as both a view blocker, and distinguishes between the Main and Branch Line.

Next up was out with the Air Brush and give the Track a blow over to weather the Rail sides and Sleepers, then wipe off the tops, apart from the Siding ends.

I also gave the walling a light dusting to tone it down a bit.

And finally, I added the Ballast, It's not been treated yet so is still dry in the pics.

The old Main Branch Line along the back has a mix of;

Woodlands Scenics

B73 Buff

B71 Dark Brown

Gaugemaster GM115

All are Fine / N Gauge.

Then to the end of the Line, i.e. the Headshunt I added some Woodlands Scenics Fine Cinders to darken that area.

For the Line from Budoc Bridge, I added more Gaugemaster GM115 to the mix to make it more Grey, and then for the centre area where the Points are, I added more Fine Cinders.

Lastly for the two Sidings, I used neat B71 Dark Brown towards the ends blending out to the above mixes nearer the Points, and finally the two Sidings and the end of the Headshunt was sprinkled some Woodlands Scenics T49 Green Blend.

More Flock and Static Grass will be added after the Ballast has been fixed.

Andy, I don't like being critical but that steel bridge doesn't look right with the centre span.  I know your thinking, it is a view blocker but would putting wing walls to the two abutments do the same thing?   An alternative would be to construct the bridge sides as brick built which IMO would blend better should you keep the existing centre pier.

Looking good Andy ... which point motors have you used if you don't mind me asking?

Rich

Hi Rich they are Gaugemaster / SEEP type, I found the ones with the Frog switch and the ones with the over centre spring un reliable, but as I've used Gaugemaster DCC80 Autofrogs these are fine and are working off 12V DC which is a bonus.
