Matti8
Even though I have alot on my plate, yesterday I suddenly had an urge to build a V4. I spent a few hours looking for a suitable chassis and some drawings but I could only find some very basic ones. As my primary interest is LMS I really have no idea where to find LNER drawings especially for this loco. So does anyone know where I could get some or have some that they could scan/take a picture of? Thanks! Matti
Derekstuart
Have you tried the NER Association? https://ner.org.uk/ Or LNER Encyclopedia forum? https://www.lner.info/forums/index.php I did look at an engineering book from NERA as I'm looking for building diagrams for the K4, although NERA wasn't supplying at the time due to C19- I'm not sure if they are now. One other person who is worth seeking out is Mr Arthur Kimber https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/profile/6751-arthurk/ he designs kits of such stunning quality, yet simple to build, and I suspect if he doesn't know where to get such information, he will know someone who does. His knowledge of (L)NER is unrivalled I'd say.
Nick Holliday
Isinglass list the V4. https://www.isinglass-models.co.uk/Isinglass_Catalogue_May-2019.pdf They have a very good reputation for detail and accuracy, although I have had no experience of them myself. This will prove very useful indeed. I will try these out. Thank you Derek and Nick. Will be looking forward to seeing your K4 maybe I will attempt one in the future. RMweb Premium Michael Edge Posted October 22, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 22, 2020 We can supply an etch (including moulded chimney and dome in this case) for this loco and tender, drawings included. Price is £50, UK postage £1.50 - not sure how much to Finland. This is part of our "etches only" range rather than a fully worked up kit. All the n/s parts seen here (and the frames) are on the etch, paper patterns are included for the brass parts (boiler, firebox and smokebox). The chimney and dome mouldings were taken from this model. Michael Edge Judith Edge kits
