The LSWR Road Van link does not work, as 14.04.

I have one of the original resin Kernow Wadebridge Type 4 stone signal box which served on my Cornish Padstow layout for several years. When Bude boxes were on a deeply discounted sale, I obtained one as the stairs were on the correct side for the Padstow platform. The box was a bit too high. I painted it a grey stone color with thick paint to somewhat disguise the fact that it was brick not stone and used it as the Padstow box until the demise of that layout in a deluge from a roof leak.  It is now stored along with all of my Padstow structures that could saved.  I have returned to local California modeling with my 1950-54 Port Costa layout under slow development.

Skrifa or Skirfa, I do not know what either mean, Could someone enlighten me with a bit of plain English

Don't forget that all of us from beyond the Tamar are foreigners. Permit Kernow to enjoy their own language - even if occasionally mis-spelt!

As explained on the index page linked here http://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/pg/182/KMRC-Skrifa---Blog-index 'Skrifa' is the Cornish for "writing" we like to educate, inform and be a little whimmy!

There have been a couple of new Skrifa posts this week.

One about the background of the Bachmann Southern Region EMUs (and DEMU) currently available following the arrival of their 2-HAPs and a little update of some of our exclusive projects.

See the Skrifa index here https://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/pg/182/KMRC-Skrifa---Blog-index

Oh and a few ideas from Santa too, Nadelik Lowen!

Is it just me, or would anyone west of Offa's Dyke object to these descriptions:

51-201-A Kato/Peco Festiniog Railway "Small England" 0-4-0 tender locomotive "Princess"

51-201-B Kato/Peco Festiniog Railway "Small England" 0-4-0 tender locomotive "Prince"

That's the builder, not the description.  :)

The others were bigger so known as the Large England. He also built the first Fairlie "Little Wonder" and Shannon which is now at Didcot.

Not to worry Stu - nowadays some folk will take offence at anything.   Maybe even those in Wales who didn't like the idea of receiving 'small England' engines instead of 'large England' engines or even having a 'Little Wonder' instead of a 'Big Wonder'.  But worst of all having the engines named in English instead of Welsh (which would strike me as genuinely thoughtless).

Takes all sorts but look on the bright side as at least Davies & Metcalffe as a company had a Welsh background.

Small wonder perhaps then that parts of Pembrokeshire were known historically as “Little England Beyond Wales”as a large number of folk migrated from east of Offa’s Dyke .:D

Our latest Skrifa post is a comprehensive summer news update from PECO Model Railways here https://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/pg/201/KMRC-Skrifra---PECO-News-Update---Summer-2021

The index of all our Skrifa posts can be found here https://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/pg/182/KMRC-Skrifra---Blog-index

Always enjoy the Skrifa but particularly good to hear such a thorough update from Peco.  Always exciting to hear updates on their projects, particularly on this occasion Bowsiders and Englands. Great to hear track production is back underway. They have been quiet on this front for some time and I have seen the odd grumbles about difficulty getting hold of track and have myself been waiting on the arrival of a OO9 starter set for possibly nearly a year! (I forget when it was ordered, but at the time it was expected relatively imminently).
