Another new Southern Electric book is available

For those who may have missed it within the books section, we have teamed up with renowned Southern Electric author David Brown to publish the first of three new titles on Southern Electrics.

We have taken another dip into colour archives to select the very best of colour photographs for you with this one. All our favourites are here along with a selection of rarities.

 

Classes 70, 71, 73, 74 are all on show in a variety of liveries and locations, along with examples of 2-BIL, 2-HAL, 4-SUBs both pre and post war varieties, 2-EPB, 4-EPB, 2-HAP, 4-LAV, 4-COR, 4-BUF, 5-BEL, 6-PUL, 6-PAN, 6-COR, 4-CEP, 4-CIG, 4-VEP, 4-REP, 4-TC, 7-TC & 4-BIG. Add in the odd Class 33 & 03 in the background and we have a great variety of types and locations to be savoured once more, when we thought they had all gone forever.

 

Having chosen views to bring you the best quality available having trawled through many thousands of shots, we have selected the very best with great composition, colour and in sunny conditions. We start in 1955 and take a journey around the Southern Region into and through the 1970s ending with the demise of the 2-BIL, 2-HAL 4-COR and the Brighton Belle along with the last run of the Golden Arrow.

A completely new selection of high quality photographs chosen to compliment all of the previous volumes detailing the Southern Region's fleet of EMUs, combined with detailed captions from David Brown the renowned author on all matters Southern Electric.

We have trawled the archives to bring you a fantastic further collection of views to bring back the halcyon days of a wide variety of units from the earliest days of nationalisation until the final days of the Brighton Belle.

Hi

 

I have a Hornby 2 Hal in BR green with yellow warning panels and 1st class stripes.  Has anyone painted these out or know anyone who could do this for me as my painting skills re really rubbish.
