meatloaf
Can anyone whose got one of these help me with a few questions as ive only used insulfrog skips before in 00 Looking at the slip it looks like theres 4 wires attached - 2 for the frogs and are the other 2 for the track feed wires to the bus? If so is it just a case of connecting to track bus? I plan to use DCC80 autofrogs to switch polarity as ive done with 00 scale electrofrogs. Ill use insulated joiners on all 8 rails of the slip. I'll be operating the slip by hand. Is that it or have i missed anything obvious?
mikeg
Meatloaf, you are right about the wiring but you only need to insulate the frogs unless you want to keep the slip as a power district, but I think that as you are going to use the auto frog units and will have to take the feeds for them from the central slip feeds you would get shorts if you insulate all rails of the slip. Hope this helps, I have 2 slips and have used the double Tam Valley frog juicers as it is cheaper. regards mike
Grovenor
Quote you would get shorts if you insulate all rails of the slip You can't create a short by adding an insulated joint! Insulated joints on the frogs are needed, insulated joints on the outer rails are only needed where they connect to another frog.
