Identifying Aluminium Coach Bodies

I recently bought 4 old aluminium coach bodies off eBay on a whim as a bit of a project for the future but I would appreciate some help identifying the diagrams of exactly what they are.

I suspect the body shells themselves are BSL/Phoenix.

First up is a pair of 57' bodies of what I assume to either corridor or open thirds.

Next up is what I believe is a pair of D1905 Brake Third body shells however I'd appreciate an more knowledgeable eye being cast over them.

Thanks in advance for any help :)

Unsure of the top one. End lavatory compartment Third of some description. The windows suggest a convertible sleeper. D1709 if it is. Flush sided version being built in 1931.

Second is possibly D2119 Corridor Third.

Bottom ones are Brake Thirds. I think to D2123.

Both of these are the type just before the Porthole stock with the four equal ventilator windows.

The unpainted one is D1899 TK

The painted one is D1904 TO

The brakes are D1905 BTK

They aren't though.

Look at the ventilators. They are 1948 versions later adopted by BR so are in the D21XX range of Diagrams just before the LMS adopted the Porthole for the lavatory window.

This is a D1905. look at the windows.

Compare to this.

Yes but the post war types had extra doors on the corridor side and the BTK had the toilet moved to the end not in the centre as these have.

So these have window and door layouts as the diagrams I quoted but incorrect sliding vents.

I suspect it was not possible to punch the windows to the correct dimensions and this was the best compromise that could be achieved.

Having been busy cutting and shutting Airfix Stanier coaches I agree with Mark on what diagrams they are.

Compartment side.

I have a D1905 but as it is the standard Airfix model I haven't photographed it knowingly, it could well be on my layout thread in a photo of an operating session.

I'll look for the proper diagrams later when I get the LMS coach books out. If I have time as they are in storage and the football is on.

But they aren't 1930s stock. They are 1940s. The ventilators are the type later used on BR Mark Ones. The LMS built thousands like that.

I have a gut feeling they might be MTK. Here is one of the MTK Portholes.

It's times like this that we miss LG. He would have identified them in seconds.
