RMweb Premium Brit70053 Posted October 30, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 30, 2020 A friend has asked me to request information about photographs of 3 Gresley Class V2 Locos in their BR days. He has been looking for photos of V2s Numbers : 60927, 60934 and 60965. He has searched on the internet and I have searched this forum without success, other than a reference to 60927 featuring on a Peter Handford recording which I think I have a copy of. Does anyone have photos of any of these three locos, or know of any source from which they may be viewed please? Any help will be gratefully received. FoxUnpopuli
I'm sure someone (else) here has a copy of Tuffrey's Gresley's V2s... but in case they don't, I'll look through it Sunday night when I'm back near mine.
Caley739
"The Power of The V2s" by Gavin Morrison OPC 2001 has 60927 on page 95 at Steele Road on the Waverley Route 3/12/62 and 60965 at Hawick on page 92 12/7/58. Both are St Margarets allocated and in dirty unkept condition.
Caley739
Yeadon's Register of LNER Locomotives Volume 4 has a good view of 60927 on page 39 at Haymarket (I think).
FoxUnpopuli
Sorry - no pics of the three locomotives you list, in either LNER pre/post 1946 or in BR days as requested in Tuffrey's book.
