ianmacc
Familiar story to many owners of these but I’m having issues with the free movement of the bogies on my class 110 DMU. I need to remove the power car body shell from the chassis. Easy enough in the Margate one but I can’t see how to remove the Chinese one. Assistance please. ianmacc
Never mind done it. Sod’s law after typing. For those interested there are four holes in each internal corner of the engine bay that you put a screwdriver in and this unclips the glazing and doubles as the release. ianmacc
Another very technical fix. If the bogies are stiff and want to go straight on all the time instead of through points and curves you can either spend hours adjusting and filing and so on or you can just stick a massive rusty block of metal in the first class compartment and Bob’s your uncle ! RMweb Premium JDW Posted December 5, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 5, 2020 Bit late now, but that's handy to know. I had never figured it out! I remember my set was like that, I don't remember how I cured it but I think it was a combination of a few strokes of a file on some of the bogie 'pivots' on the front'sides'rear of the bogie frame, and lubrication. Fitting better wheels has helped no end too, although to be fair it spends most of its time on a shelf so rarely runs anyway.
