BACHMANN EUROPE ANNOUNCE NEW PRODUCTS FOR WINTER 2020

Bachmann Europe Plc today announced several new products across its Bachmann Branchline, Graham Farish, Scenecraft and EFE Rail ranges – with models in both N and OO scale being added to Bachmann’s extensive portfolio.

The first ever British Railway Announcements were unveiled in February 2020, a month after Bachmann Europe had outlined its plans to announce new products on a quarterly basis and only when those items are within three months of becoming available. This fourth and final set of announcements for 2020 is the biggest yet and marks a successful first year for this new approach which has been welcomed by customers and consumers alike.

Graham Farish has always been at the forefront of British N scale and was the first manufacturer to introduced British consumers to models with factory-fitted DCC Sound Decoders (now known as SOUND FITTED). The selection of SOUND FITTED models from Graham Farish expands further this Winter with the unveiling of six new Class 31 locomotives with SOUND FITTED.

There are SOUND FITTED developments in OO scale from Bachmann Branchline too, with this feature being added to the 94XX Pannier Tanks and Class 117 DMUs. All-new versions of the H1 and H2 Atlantics and Class 57 locomotives are also announced – each with a SOUND FITTED option available.

The Scenecraft range of highly detailed, hand painted buildings, structures and accessories welcomes a new collection of OO scale models – Lucston and Wigmore – offering quintessential structures suitable for any setting. There are new additions in N scale too, including the reappearance of models depicting iconic structures such as the Coaling Tower and Gasometer.

EFE Rail is already becoming an established name on the shelves of Bachmann retailers and there are new additions in both OO and N scale this Winter, with models of two different wagons – the Shark Brake Van and JIA Bogie Hopper – being made available in ready-to-run format in N scale for the first time.

Full details of these Winter announcements are featured in the British Railway Announcements catalogue which is available exclusively with the Bachmann Times – the official magazine of the Bachmann Collectors Club – and these products are set to be released during the next three months and can be ordered from any Bachmann stockist.

Would have been interested if the DRS 57 was in the current fade away livery but then I guess even that is becoming obsolete now as they are hiring out their 57s ..... such a shame as another open goal missed .... makes you wonder if this livery is hard to replicate as no-one aside from Accurascale on their forthcoming 37/6 has attempted it ......

With regards to the rest - still no new 90s ..... makes me happy - more for me to respray over the winter months .......

How about Dapol 68, isn’t that the fade away livery?

Out of my era so not really studied their success of replicating it though!

Some lovely items, however the age of the £200 locomotive is now well established.

The lineside stuff will be wonderful IF they come out as well finished.

.

The prices of the further 94xx variants gave me a bit of a start until I realised they all have sound.

Awfully glad I bought my Beachy Head when I did.....

Some imaginative new variations on existing themes that will be welcomed by those with interests in the appropriate areas and eras. However, I bought all I want/need from earlier batches and have (largely) cured myself of "collecting" so only a couple of items will demand my attention.

Thanks for including the building sizes, very helpful.

They're not all there for both OO and N ranges but I thought it useful to include as it was kindly provided.

They certainly are and I wish it was something that was provided as a matter of course. If you could pass back our thanks for the dimensions please, it would be appreciated.

Some of the buildings look quite nice.

Nothing seems to get modellers excited quite like a loco, but there are still some of these & the announcement only covers what should actually be with us in the next 3 months.

I quite like the fact that what has been announced will be available relatively soon.

Fantastic to see a WCRC 57 finally for OO Gauge. Been many years since 57601 was commissioned by Model Rail.

Pity they've included the Dellner on the WCRC 57......

Just my opinion from a current day perspective would have liked further Class 90's or modern DBSO's (DRS or NR) instead of more Class 57's.

Captain Tom Moore Class 66 Pack looks good with the WWII fighter planes.

Why would the DBSO be released today, the Mk2Fs are next due June/July 2021. Thus I would be expecting Bachmann to announce a DRS Mk2F TSO, BSO and DBSO during their May 2021 release...ideally along with the Network Rail DBSO. It is fairly easy to 'guess' what shall be released in every quarter now. Looking at Feb 2021, you have a series of class 150s and 20/3s due in the 3 months following...thus likely more liveries on these...

Agreed! As the GWR 57 was due in this quarter, I was expecting more 57s to be announced. But sad we have missed out on the 57/3 fade livery. Seeing as Bachmann can 'ink jet' print the 66 model and Dapol can tampo print the new compass on the 68...I was 100% assuming Bachmann would finally provide us a much sort after loco. Maybe, and a big maybe here.... seeing as we know from the 66s the ink jet printing adds considerable cost....perhaps we shall see the fade 57/3 announced as a limited edition this week? Kernow are good for limited editions... Maybe it is being produced and shipped for Dec/Jan and shall be announced either with a retailer or as the next Bachmann collectors club? I have a feeling, whilst they have the 57 tooling out, surely they have produced this one. Eagle eye on retailer's sites some Dec!

Still, utterly chuffed with 57009 to run on RHTTs with 57011! It appears they have used the original artwork from 57011 so it shall match!

Here goes my first ever moan about price! I would have thought for a £204 locomotive they would have cut off the Dellner rather than painted it yellow. Still buying one, and hopeful 57601 in the new Northern Belle livery shall be a limited edition with some retailer.
