B312257 will need a lot of work to make it appear as it did in 1982 https://PaulBartlett.zenfolio.com/brmdv/ea5e5ad73

As will B201198 to appear as it did in 1980  https://PaulBartlett.zenfolio.com/mdo/e2d18ccd3

Life wasn't very kind to these wagons.

Paul

There's a few flecks of paint holding the rust together there Paul

Looking forward to seeing some weathering being done to these in due course Paul (and thanks for your help once more!)

Accurascale may have been influenced by some of my photos. This is the list with reference to my photos but this does not mean that the artwork, or detail of the wagons, will appear as in these photos.

Gents, I had a search but I have not found an answer. Are the instanter couplings fitted cosmetic or functional?

Designed to be cosmetic, but they are metal and the buffers are sprung, so can function subject to usual radii caveats. HTH!

Read all about the Rails of Sheffield exclusive MDV here https://railsofsheffield.com/news/articles/3791-mc-metals-livery-sample

PMV clearly meant something entirely different under TOPS than it did previously.

You'd end up with some very soggy parcels/newspapers if you loaded them into one of those.:jester:

Sorry for the dim question but can any experts explain which wagons made it into the 1990s? I like the look of these and I'm modelling the 90s and trying to justify some!!

These MDV's in this livery soldiered on until 1992

I believe the last use of MDOs was export coal through Swansea Docks which lasted until early 1987.

Coal was moved in block trains of MDVs in South Wales into 1991.

The all new limited edition MDV wagon from Accurascale exclusively for the Monday Club. Orders are being fulfilled by Rails of Sheffield so order with confidence. Model expected later thus year at the same time as the rest of the Accurascale MDO/MDV wagons.

The wagon features a prototypically correct livery based on photographs. To this discrete ‘Empty to Wear Yard’ stencil branding has been applied, plus the ‘JK’ logo on one side in the style of a graffiti spray tag. The running number is unique to this release.
