As scythe wielding space cadet Jethro has fallen off the edge of the layout, I have taken the opportunity to tidy up the grass.

That looks great already.  I need to crack on with mine, but work is going to intrude over the next couple of days at least.

We are now at the model railway equivalent to being stuck between a rock and a hard place.

The ballast glue has arrived. I do have a volunteer to help with that lovely task however.

But first, I could do with getting the cattle dock stuck down, for the same reason that the platform is stuck down.

The railings and gates look like they have the potential to be a PITA.

The point rodding has to go down and look right.

Definitely a PITA.

The bodgers bench definitely has an ominous look .

Experimental sheep look easier to paint now!

I forgot to mention the less well known, and thankfully short-lived, "Ford Readers' Wives".

As I said, you obviously have much more knowledge on this subject…

That page always looked like a butcher's bin.

It could put you off for life...

What can I say? Bunch of ten year olds find a pile of magazines in the mower shed of the local football club.

Even as a kid you can tell the difference between between a silk purse and a sows ear.

Or a roadkill hedgehog.

Where do I need to start with the point rodding? That would be the signal box. I need to position it properly to get the rodding run right from the lead off board to the loop point nearest the level crossing and ensure that the bottom of the stairs is far enough away from the bottom of the platform ramp to not look crammed in.

Of course it helps if the balcony and steps are attached to the aforementioned signal box. A job I have always found tedious since the days when the only plastic kit was the Airfix Midland Railway one.

Note that the cabin stove has come adrift. The adhesive I used was evidently sub optimal / s**te. :mad_mini:

One of the signal box details that I have been putting off is the name board. I think that it will pass muster once painted!

Maybe.

I’ve never seen a butcher’s bin: I presumed you had…

Don’t know why you had to bring the local football club into it… ;)

Anyway, nice progress on the box.
