RMweb Premium ColinK Posted November 24, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 24, 2020 Its brilliant. Took me three visits before I saw it operating. Somewhere, probably Youtube, there is a video of a ‘cab ride’ on the line going at surprisingly high speeds, you find out why at the end, there was an ambulance waiting for one of the passengers. railroadbill
Just found this thread, by coincidence a friend was telling me that her brother, a narrow gauge enthusiast, had stayed on the island and had therefore been able to ride on the line in order to get there. Also found a short BBC piece about the history of the islands, including shots of the line operating. Apparently a Hallig is a type of island that doesn't have sea defences around it and can be partly submerged at high tides. 3
