bordercollie
I would be interested to know to find out what design of trussing/queen posts was used on the GWR articulated coaches particularly the 3 Car dining kitchen sets. regards

Bulleidnutter
9653 / 4 didnt have the queen posts and supports changed when they were de articulated. Having been looking at the 12" : 1' version all this morning. When they were made into individual coaches the chassis was cut and lengthed with 2 large rivited plates added across the join. bordercollie
Thanks to those who replied. However, I won't be proceeding with this project as I am unable to buy the 8'6" bogies that I would need. Regards
Wickham Green too
The BR1 bogie was based on a GWR design - you MIGHT only have to change axleboxes ................ though there may be other differences, of course !
BernardTPM
Correct wheelbase and very similar basic frame shape. If you go this route I would use the earlier styrene bogies, the ones that were riveted (or screwed if the rarer CKD) in place as the clip-on type are made of unstickable plastic which would make it harder to alter for the articulation.
