I have an ESU/Howes Sound decoder I would like to sell but I am unable to reset it using CV8=8. The address can be changed via the Program Track but CV8 does not reset on POM or Program Track. Anybody any ideas?

You may need to cut then restore power after CV8 =8 to make the reset 'stick'.

Best regards,

Paul

Hi Paul, that certainly works but the loco doesn't respond to loco address 3? The loco address can be changed though from the unknown address to what I want via the Program Track.

Disconnect the power pack before you reset it, they don’t always accept changes with the power pack connected. I have had problems using the lokprogrammer with locos with stay alives. I always disconnect them now just in case

Hi Richard, I had already disconnected the power pack and address 3 was still unrecognised on reset. Strange. I been in conversation with the dealer who advised only changing CV113, so I am going to try that on another V4 decoder as I ruined the micro one with my multi meter. :cry:We live and learn (the hard way).
