Gaugemaster collection O gauge class 08 and 09’s

These were listed online nearly 18 months ago, surprised when I looked at my pre order date, are these actually happening, or is it a pipe dream? No updates or information anywhere and when asked on Facebook via messenger, nothing but silence in return

These are Dapol products rebadged under the Gaugemaster Collection range, just showing 09s now on the website.

 

No release date given, it could be they don't have sufficient orders yet to buy the slot to build their models or simply that Dapol haven't assigned a slot to build them.

 

Have you tried contacting Gaugemaster direct, whilst messenger is a means to contact it is not the only means and it may not be monitored as often as you'd hope or expect.

I’ve contacted GM in regards to these but no reply as yet - does anyone know if their a firm release or one or these “if you come, we’ll build it” type projects ?

Gaugemaster got back to me they said, yes you can precorder but no eta of a release - nor did they say the models are firm releases or if we get enough orders type models.

 

If it was the latter I’d sign up, but seems pointless saying I’ll have one if they never actually happen - if I say I’ll have one it means the money is in the pot waiting, in not keeping X amount for years potentially if the model never comes.

i pre ordered a couple straight away as I need the 09’s, I just need to know if they are actually coming before I take knives to my current 08’s to convert them to the 09’s I want

I’ve given up waiting, I’ve created my own southern 08 from their earlier models, and now I’ve done that and worked out how to do it, I can get on and convert my other into an 09. Cancelled my pre orders. Can’t wait forever without any update and Ivor was only a nice to have rather than a need to have

I spoke with Dapol at the recent O gauge show and they told me a batch of 08’s was due soon so perhaps these are in with them?

Hattons sent out an email with painted samples contained from gauge master so this project isn’t dead as many of us thought.

Just caught up on these and have one observation If I may. I see in the pre-production pics none of the 09’s have the high level piping fitted which was a distinctive feature of the Class whilst based on the Southern.

 

Would anyone know if these are planned to be on the actual models?

Unless I'm mistake, it looks like this is just a re-liveried Class 08, rather than a true 09, the head and tail lamps don't match the prototype for starters?
