The Leeds MRS CIO held a "virtual" AGM last night. The members who attended (some 85% of the members) voted in favour of accepting  the 2018-2019 Accounts.

Changes in the Committee

After many years as Hon Secretary Andy Morris (Innocentman on RMWeb) has stepped down. Many thanks for all of his help, support and hard work over the years).

New secretary is.. Barry O.

More details later.

We have started to dod more regular Zoom Club meetings. A recent "Show and Tell" one covered items in 2mm, 3mm, 4mm (OO and EM) as well as 7mm and a model of a Gwili Railways loco.. fascinating stuff.

We are still issuing a newsletter every two weeks so if you have been a member of want to find out more PM me on RMWeb.

Clubrooms are now open to pre booked groups of members (maximum of 6 including a key holder)as per Track and Trace...

Small steps towards full reopening ..fingers crossed that will be in June.

Our lift is now both goods and people carrying so a bit easier to get to the  clubroom.

Barry - as well as being involved with the Mickleover (Derby) Club, I am also Chairman of the local Community Centre. Derby City Council have told the Centre to follow the guidelines issued by ACRE (Action with Communities in Rural England) as they produce a lot of information for Village Halls which are of course the same as Community Centres.

In their guidance, it says that indoor activities are still covered by 'The Rule of Six' but that there can be any number of groups of six in the building provided that they are distanced from each other and there are no interactions between the groups. So my understanding of this is that if you have enough space in your clubrooms, you could have six members on each layout as long as they are nowhere near any other groups.

At the Mickleover club we have limited space and the four layouts (N OO OO O) are all very close and so we have decided to have a maximum of four on each layout, and to only have two layouts operating each night so that the groups are a good distance apart. There is also a night time supervisor responsible for the keys, checking they stay apart and ensuring that all surfaces etc are wiped clean ready for the next open night (Tues & Fri).

The ACRE guidance can be found on this link - 50 pages (!!) but see page 6 for example. There are also useful risk assessments etc that you may find helpful as well

Quote

Different “rule of 6” groups should be separated by 2m so that social distancing is maintained between them and they do not mix or mingle. People in groups of one, i.e., individuals not in a group, may need to be socially distanced from other groups.

Hope that's helpful and another step to returning to more normal activities - even if all 'restrictions' are removed at the next stage of the release from lockdown, we will still continue to operate a pre-booking system and limit numbers until the Committee feel that it is safe to allow more into the limited space we have available.

It seems that our "group of 6" booked in advance is working. Fingers crossed an open day later in the year, plus our exhibition in October should be fine.

As of this Wedesday 21st July our Clubrooms are reopening.

Pl3ase PM me if you want to attend as there are two security doors to get theough before accessing the club rooms.

During lockdown the buillding owner has upgraded the lift so we can now use it as a people/goods lift. Makes access to the 3rd floor a lot easier.

We have a running session on that date, so while you're playing with Chapel you can pretend it's Porthmellyn Road.

Hope the Open Day goes well and that you rustle up some new members.

Yes, it was good fun wasn't it? Perhaps next time we should try streaming a running session live through an iPhone...
