Any chance of posting the actual pictures rather than tedious links please.

Here are mine showing said boxes;

Black Bank. Interesting intermediate block in rear. You took an up train on the block and could give out before the train got to you.

We have had photos of three of the five mechanical signal boxes that survived into the 1980s in the Avonmouth area. (Hallen Marsh, Holesmouth Junction, and Avonmouth Dock Junction.)

Here is St Andrews Junction which had a new lease of life controlling traffic at the Bristol Bulk Handling Terminal (BBHT).

St Andrews Junction signal box before the BBHT opened for traffic, some time in 1993.

The fifth box was Avonmouth Town Goods Yard (corrected full name) seen in the background of this photo.

Does anyone have a better photo of the fifth box Avonmouth Town Goods?

Back in 2017 I travelled on the West Somerset Railway during the last week of normal service in October.

There was some kind of signalling problem on the return journey, we stood for some time at Crowcombe Heathfield, but it did give the chance of a different view of the box.

Thanks. I have not seen that angle before. By the time I knew the area most of the PBA lines and connections to and from the BR network were out of use, including those in the foreground here. I think they are the former Corporation Lines.

Another bunch of Dad's photos - three more S&D and some LMSR and NER ones - I haven't got the location of the photo with 61263 & 60978. It comes from a negative without any information. Dad couldn't have thought that the quality was worth printing. I probably could find the locos, and therefore the location, if I ploughed through his nearly twenty loco spotting log books. Perhaps someone could save me the time, by identifying where it was taken.

I think I can remember the IB distant was visible in the distance from Horsemoor? You could certainly see one a long way off towards Ely

Black Bank wouldn’t be visible from Horemoor, you had Manea and Stonea in the way.

I presume the IBS was where Furlong Drove box had been?

Yes indeed. A very interesting stretch of line as the signals are still all there though not in their original guises.

First one; Crabtree Manorway, between Belvedere and Erith? If so, almost on my home turf. Which, trainwise was West Street Crossing, just up the line

Here is Barnstaple Town in 2010 forty years after closure of the line to Ilfracombe in 1970.

The buildings of Barnstaple Town station have seen many uses since the closure of the line.
