Don't see many of those in model form.

Poor Old Bruce
Signal boxes on the GN & GE Joint line between Spalding and March, seen on 17 April 1982. The first two look to me to be in the GNR style. Poor Old Bruce
These are from March (the place, not the month) on 17 April 1982 March West Junc, GER March Whitemoor Junc, GER(?) and this one, the newest looking one but obviously past its prime. A BR(E) build presumably but no nameboard visible. Any offers? Edit: It didn't take beast 66606 long to tell us it's March North, see next post. Second Edit: 62613 reckons it is March East. Block bells at twenty paces perhaps? 3rd Edit: Beast wins!!! Plus Three Horse Shoes, GER Edited May 25, 2021 by Poor Old Bruce To add the name of March North

62613
March East, I think. Many, many years ago, nearly 50, I went in that box. My recollection is that the boxes were, in order from Ely to PBO, South, North, East, West. The first two still exist.

It's March North - March East is still open at the level crossing by the station, March South is on the Ely side of that - March North and West are both gonners. 1

LNERGE
March North box survived for quite a while after closure. I have not found anything to confirm my suspicion it was used as a ground frame briefly. The west bays stayed in use for parcel traffic after the box closed according to the book by Henry Orbell. This photo exists taken after it had all gone..

I understand Tywyn was the original Maidenhead East 'Box when that was located precariously on the embankment alongside the Up Relief. The replacement was a more modern (type 7?) in the space between the Down Relief and Up Main.
