Makes a change to see this box from an angle omitting the windmill!

I think you'd be hard pressed to get much of the box from that angle these days. The background is nothing like that these days either. Unless the foliage has been hacked back in the 12 years since this image was taken, and no windmill in this one either.....

And the signal has been changed for the modern alloy, all safety scaffolding style semaphore.

Just checked Street View and this gorgeous cabin at Minety has been replaced by a featureless portacabin. Copyright forbids me from posting the after picture, but here is a link.

I can say that the flower baskets seem to be common to both cabins.

Blankney signal box at Metheringham station back in 1987 on the Lincoln to Peterborough line.

I was surprised to see it still standing today as we went past on the train. However all the station buildings have gone with just modern shelters on the extended platforms

Winchcombe in 2002, interior was on page 13 of this thread.

This box is a replica, a picture of the Winchcombe site in 1980 - note no box (and no station)!

I remember Winchcombe station as a coal merchants yard for many years in Monmouth.

The site of Troy station is now housing.
