Bachmann CLASS 414

Hi trying to fit a chip to the power car of the new Bachmann 414 instruction points to clip, note 2 extra extra screws cab end, but unable to remove clips at non dring end of car, so managed to fit a chip but when i tried replacing body found this was near imposible cab wnd will not sit leaving a 1mm gap between boody and chassis, need help am i missing something

I don't remember removing any screws. They may be the ones holding the cab moulding in place.

They are fiddly to remove the bodies, and even more fiddly to replace, but mine did eventually clip back in. I found I had to jiggle it a little to get it to sit over the cab lighting properly, then lowered the body as evenly as possible onto the chassis, before easing the sides slightly at one end to get it it sit down, then the same thing at the other end before firmly pushing the whole length of the body down.

Haven't done my HAP yet, but I am pretty sure that on the other Bachmann EMUs you have to put the cab end in first when refitting the body, then the inner end.

I do wish it was easier to install the DCC decoders on these Southern EMU models, the Desiro/Class 90 approach of a removable panel is much more user friendly
