Hi all,

The title says it all. For the past couple of weeks I have become unable to post web links here. The post just comes out as plain text.

I did struggle earlier today when posting a 'bargain'....

The fix was by clicking the 'link' icon in the top bar of the post's 'bubble'...(hope that makes sense !).

I'm sure I used to just paste a shortcut previously, but can't be certain...

Nope still not working. I am using 64 bit windows 10 with Microsoft Edge browser.

Which version of Edge?  Is the Icon for Edge a single colour E or the circular blues and greens one?  The latter is the current version and the former is the now depreciated original (non-chromium) version which is lkikely not supported by the upgraded forum software now.

This is just a copy/paste from the URL at the top of the page.....

......and this is ‘share’ from the edit menu......

Both appear to be working correctly. iPad 14.2 and Safari. I guess this may not help other than confirming it is working on my system and is probably a web browser/local conflict on your machine.

Perhaps others can come up with more practical solutions.

Edit: Does this help?

A quick search on Windows 10 and hyperlinks via Edge would suggest it’s a known problem.

This link refers to problem using Outlook and dates from 2017.

I use Edge with no problems at all. The version on my system is 87.0.664.66 which you can find by clicking the ... top right and then following settings -> about.

No you are not going mad.  It has happened to me as well and not just here but other forums and also copying links into word.  I thought it might have been due to a cat crawling over the keyboard but it now looks as if this is one of Microsoft's special features with the latest update.  Thank you Mr Gates.

Try setting it to "plain text" rather than "link"

From one of the other forums that I use:

Go to edge://settings/shareCopyPaste

Try setting it to "plain text" rather than "link"

I have not tried it here but it works in the other environments
