Brass & whitemetal primer recommendations - for airbrushing

I think they may have changed the name. Check with them – the part number on the one I have used is CL20446/A.

 

You must wear a mask for it. Don't use it with pets around as it's really nasty stuff. You need at least 16 degrees C and less than 60% relative humidity.

 

Waft it on in thin coats.

Test on a brass strip. 

 

Halford Primer , Halford EtchingPrimer. UPOL 8, the  paint left for 2 days to ensure complete hardeness/drying of the paint had been achieved.

 

"Scratch test " all passed with zero damage, just a very slight nail mark/scuff.

 

Upol 8 has a very slightly smoother finish .

 

I will stick to normal Primer .

 

The test doesnt really prove anything, as the usual problem areas are projections like handrail knobs and edges , these are normally the areas that chip easily.
