Making progress on the sibling.

When working on multiple trees, I've found it's important to number them. Otherwise you could end up barking up the wrong tree.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. "You're all barking".

It is.  What material did you use for the curved backscenes?

Many thanks. It's 6mm MDF. But I used the bendy type for the corners only, then filled the gaps.

I guess we've all got our pet hates. One of mine is seeing corners in back scenes. So I made sure to design Bovey Tor with contours first. A lot of extra work up front and you do lose some real estate in the corners but hey ho.

Thanks.  It was more the curves that I was asking about actually.  I'm thinking about using curved corners and then fixing on ID Backscenes using these.

I know that I could/should paint my own, but ...

The goods yard area will be lower and set in to the surrounding terrain. There will be a small country road/lane entering down a slight gradient between the trees. Which will end at the entrance to the goods yard, which will be cobbled.

Hi George.

That really does look the part. I always find once you start plonking structures about, you have a real, perhaps the first, insight into how the layout will look.

Thanks for that Rob.

I agree, it's only at this stage that you get a proper sense of how things work together. The goal is harmony of structures, colours and textures.

Have been to a few tests on how to model the walls and stones on Dartmoor.

Definitely starting to look the part George as the stones used do tend to seem random at first glance as many do out on Dartmoor.

The main part will be getting the textures to look right.

This is the tidiest I've seen Bovey Tor for months. Funny how it becomes a magnet to everything.

Finally starting work on the platform and surrounding terrain. But first need to mask the back scene before weathering the track.
