Dickens
Has anyone successful experience of fitting an Eckon E25 ground signal to a Tortoise switching motor? Would it be possible to link the white LED to the common tab on the Tortoise connector and each of the two red LEDs to the other two terminals on the connector, adding resistors to the anode side of each red LED? Grovenor
The Eckon website is lacking details but those signals should not have 2 reds and one white! In the 20th century they had two whites and one red, the bottom left being the red. In the 21st century when converted to use LEDs then they had one red, one white and one bi-colour red/white in the bottom right. So first thing is to choose your period and get the correct LEDs. Either version could be switched by a tortoise but the wiring for each is a bit different.
Dickens
I shall go with the two reds and one white as those are the three LEDs supplied. I presume the bottom right red LED is bi-colour. Edited January 13, 2021 by Dickens Review of some You Tube videos where bottom right LED appears red when unlit. michaelp
The Train Tech GK1 ground signal is a much more realistic shape and can be wired with two reds and white or two whites and one red,
Dickens
Replied to post, but cannot see my reply on the site. Thanks for the info. I will look at other signals.
