dasatcopthorne
Hi Guys. I have an old Airfix Class 31 I'm rather fond of and wondered if anyone has managed to re-wheel one to modern standards please? Dave.
RMweb Gold Scottish Modeller Posted January 23, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 23, 2021 Hi Dave, The answer is yes - but.... Ultrascale OO wheelsets - if you can get them. https://www.ultrascale.uk/eshop/products/CAT024 Other op[tion - if yoou have a lathe or access to one, is to trun down and reprofile the existing wheels. Thanks Phil H
crompton 33
With my Airfix class 31 . I replaced the plastic wheels on the front bogie with metal wheels. Got a rear bogie off E bay cheap. Then put the wheels on the front bogie. No more traction tyres works fine. 1 1
