Ray Von
I'm looking for a suitable material to construct an angled stand for my Fleischman DC controller. I can find obtuse angle mounting brackets no problem, but I'd like to mount the controller onto a plinth of some sort. When "finished" my layout will have a white plastic trim along the front section, and the fiddle yard / traverser are white too - so I'm looking for a suitable material to match. I'd like to use something ready made, ideally repurposing it. My immediate thoughts are something along the lines of a placemat or small cutting board, maybe a slim picture frame. Here's a quick doodle of the basic premise:
shipbadger
What about one of the cookery book stands that people used before they had their laptop/tablet in the kitchen? Tony Comber

Ray, Any old plastic box / storage container / empty food box, doesn't have to be clear, just so long as the width / depth is about right. Then cut away most of the 'front' and all of the 'top' of the box to give access to the controller, leaving the 'base' of the box for the controller to rest on.
