Down our way most such trap points are fitted with track circuit interrupters on the run off - and as their name suggests if they get broken off the rail by something entering the trap / sand drags then the adjacent track circuit will immediately become occupied thus holding signals at red without any intervention needed from the signaller. 2 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
