Would make a good Collectors Club model. Weren't the London Transport Museum already considering producing a limited edition in this livery however or did that idea die?

The London Transport Museum did 20227 in the London Transport livery, is that what you are thinking of? Bachmann code 32-030Y.

The LTM did consider having models made of 20142 & 20227 in their current LT maroon liveries, it was announced at Warley in 2017 (I started a thread on here about them). Not to be confused with the released models of the 2013 Tube150 liveries of 20189 and 20227 in their respective liveries of LT red and LU red, blue & white.

Have a feeling this has been discussed before on WNXX but which green D8000s carried the circular BR emblem, and which carried the emblem as shown on the Bachmann model of D8015 ?

Had a trawl through this site and the the RCTS logo obscures the vital spot on a lot of images.

Hmm wonder if its biffos one.

i dont know if its just me, but i dont think there is a properly good 20 file out there for ESU.
wonder if theyve done a fresh one?

The new Jamie Goodman one I thought sounded excellent. I only saw it recently but now I can't find the video...and it was a recent upload not an old one.

I was reading the main announcement thread.  "Bachmann Spring 2021 - New products" on Wednesday, but it then disappeared from my view in the Bachmann section.

I can still access it via a link in a text I sent to friend on Wednesday morning but I can't find it anymore going via RMWEB.  I am wondering if I've inadverantly pressed a button to hide it from my view?

When I open it in the link the "Go to topic listing" and  "Next unread topic" option suggest it is still in the Bachmann thread near the top but it is just no longer visible.  This one on the retooled 20s is still visible.

Update, sorted must have inadvertently pressed ignore the topic.

No lighting and very little room for sound installs ect.

they run well and look ok though

Was going to ask the same question... Glad it was asked and answered. Glad to see that Bachmann have decided to update the model with lighting.

Is there anything else that has been updated on the model? Or is it generally the same as the older one?

New tooling as stated at the beginning (and in the title).

Thanks...pity the wipers  haven't been improved. Look as bad and fat as the older one.

Overall it is an improvement and wipers are an easy fix. It won’t see me trading in my current fleet, but it is good enough that I will probably buy more.

Still had no answer to my question up thread as to whether all the marker lights illuminate. With the one showing the lights on, only two show because of the discs. There is no hint of light bleed from behind the closed discs, which worries me a bit. If only some lights work I will just pick up current 20s when they get offloaded and fit lights as per my current ones. If they all work, 20057 will probably be joining my fleet.

I have already drawn up a set of etched wipers to change them.

Just need to find a handful of other things to fill up a sheet.

I am planning to buy the 35-351 model D8015 to go with my existing NRM version D8000.  I am a little confused about the decoder specs- I have not heard of Plux22 before.   Would a 21 pin decoder fit, as I daresay these will be cheaper than buying the Bachmann sound-fitted option ?   I am not too bothered about sound as D8000 is already sound fitted and I plan to run them as a pair.

No. The Plus connections are different. Non sound Plux decoders are available.

A longer answer is that you should be able to get a suitable Plux decoder to fit. However, a Plux 22 decoder may be overkill. A cheaper decoder with fewer connections will work but may not control all the lighting functions. In your position, I would get a 35-351 when they appear and read the instructions to see how many functions are required, then get the cheapest  decoder with the minimum number of functions required. Alternatively, you could consult a DCC specialist, who will likely have taken a look at the model and decided on the best and cheapest decoder for you purposes.

Thank you- it looks like the loco is only available either as DCC ready or DCC sound fitted but not DCC fitted.  I will shop around for a suitable decoder- any recommendations ?

In fact, if you already have D8000, the instructions for that should help. I have found YouChoos helpful. A Zimo decoder would do the job; it’s a matter of choosing one with the right number of functions.

Sorry, dud information. D8000 is an older model with a 21-pin interface. Rails stocks the Bachmann Plux decoder for £29·70. You should be fine with that but it should be possible to find a cheaper alternative.

Since £20 is basically the cheapest Zimo do good luck finding a cheaper Zimo.

Maybe a Plux16 decoder will fit the socket and work fine but unless I'm blind you ain't getting a Plux16 one for cheaper than a Plux22 so it sort of defeats the point.

An alternative might be to buy your loco from an outlet that fits decoders for you. I am sure there are a number who will do this for you, but you will probably have to pay for the convenience.  My preference is Topp Trains at Stafford because I believe in supporting my LHS and am pretty sure they install decoders. Other retailers are obviously available

Hope the cabs are easier to get into, spent a good 2 hours last night very carefully getting into the cabs of my 9 Bachmann 20s to fit driver(s).

Some can be right pigs can't they? I have put lights in most of mine now and on a couple I thought I was never going to get in to the cab without breaking something.

Edit: Still not seen any confirmation if all the marker lights work. All the images I have seen show the same two markers lit.
