Building structures using cardboard

Hi I'm in the middle of building a stone railway bridge using cardboard. 

What I want to know is will I be able to add a thin layer of plaster over the top of the cardboard so I can etch in the stone work without it warping.

Everything depends on how thick your cardboard is. If it's at least 2mm then I think you'll be ok. Keep the plaster on the dry side.

Thanks Ian I would say it's at least 3mm in thickness.

 i think then that you would be OK, just dont use too much water in the plaster.

Or have you thought of using modelling clay?

Hi Ian I have not thought about modelling clay. Normally I add some water to my filler but if I apply it without water and adding sparingly with my fingers it should be ok.
