Tallpaul69
Hi Folks, Can anyone tell me (approximately will do!) when 37411 gained its green livery and dual numbering (37411/D6990), and when did it loose that livery? Many thanks Paul
TEDDYBEAR D9521
37411 went BR green about 2005 and was withdrawn and was scrapped in that livery. Edited February 11, 2021 by TEDDYBEAR D9521
Tallpaul69
Thanks for that, but when was it scrapped?
Simon Bendall
Painted May 2005, stored July 2008, scrapped May 2013. 1

RMweb Gold rodent279 Posted February 11, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 11, 2021 (edited) Here it is, with 425 (out of sight on the other end) on the Bard n Birch tour from Bristol to Quainton via Birch Coppice, in Feb 2007. Halvarras
I was bemused to see this loco back in green with its old number as it was the first centre-headcode 37 I ever saw, heading one of those M5 construction fly-ash HAA workings through Bristol Temple Meads with 6985 on 24/7/70. I'd already managed to see five split-box ones by then, despite being Cornwall-based (taking advantage of family visits 'up-country'!) Edited February 11, 2021 by Neil Phillips Wrong date - might be important to somebody!
great central
One cab still exists, in the car park/ beer garden of a Derby pub. The name escapes me at the moment but it's next door to the Brunswick Inn within sight of the line just north of Derby station. Last time I saw it some weeks ago it looked rather sorry.
br2975
37411 stands at Cardiff Queen Street, on what I believe was its first Cardiff - Rhymney working after repainting at Toton. . 10th. May, 2005. . My photo. . Brian R
RMweb Gold The Pilotman Posted February 12, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 12, 2021 That Cardiff picture really does look like a model. Anyway, may I congratulate the members of the forum; after almost twenty-four hours nobody has yet responded to the OP’s question, “How long was 37411/D6990 in green livery?” with the answer, “the same length as it was in every other livery”. 3
Tallpaul69
That is because everyone (bar one!) treated the enquiry as a serious question! I know we all need light relief in the current situation, and I am often the first to mark a reply as "funny" but, those replies so marked, usually, are clearly light hearted! Some locos , who were accident prone, probably ended up slightly shorter than they started? Take care Paul
