Well, I've decided to upgrade my Ice Cream Van which is currently a slightly grungy (close up) Bachmann/Hornby hybrid. One slight hiccup was that American Express wasn't accepted despite there being an icon on the checkout page. Ended up using the Visa Debit card that I use for ecommerce shopping, but hopefully they'll send a notification so I can make sure there's money in the account. Will email Suttons.

Just need one of the earlier (intermediate) body style ones now. Maybe a Hornby body on the old Bachmann chassis for now.

Any chance of some more pics of the blue loco. I am trying to decide whether to go for the Heljan 25912 or SLW. I noticed the real 25912 has no centre lamp bracket at number 2 end so I am wondering if this feature will be on the SLW model.  I am also wondering if the side steps will have a have separate blanking plates like the Heljan model.

Many thanks Peter.

Anyone else wondering why this hasn't made the news section on the WOR website and posted in the in the "News stories on World of Railways
" thread here?

Maybe for the same reason that there isnt an SLW tab on here either? Who knows?

Strange that what are widely regarded as the best oo gauge rtr diesels on the market are hidden away in smaller suppliers, when djm and llc, both defunct businesses, retain their own sections.

Because I have a long memory. Leave it at that.

You are of course correct Roy, but the SLW 25322 will have the correct boy with alterations for the livery.

if im honest think it's a silly thing not to have, they have certainly proven there worth, and given people who use the forum actually keep asking for it

Yep, but it does seem silly that we the users of this forum, and without whom there would be no forum, don't get what we would really like, yet manufacturers that left us significantly out of pocket, in one case behaved very badly, still get to be on the main tab.

I would like to see Andy reconsider on this one.

Thanks Roy, easier to change a number than removing lamp brackets etc.

Cheers Peter.

i agree i think we maybe need a bit of a shake up on here it's for railways not personal agendas and as you say when DJM and LLC get a front and center spot yet cant even put suttons in the manufacturers list think its very petty and unprofesional.

im also not going to hold back that the PM i received of said person who runs the forum saying as follows.

message from other person, When I have good reason for closing a topic down and stating the reasons why please do not mark it as 'funny'. It's just plain rude.

my reply

i just got this as i sent you a message please refer to it, maybe you should be open and post my message to you for the whole forum to see and see what everyone want's, the fact i found you shut the thread down and found it a little rude by you doesn't seem to mean anything I'm not getting into a argument over it.

his reply to me

You seem very happy to argue rather than see my perspective. I'm certainly not spending a Sunday evening pandering to you.

wasn't going to post about this but i feel that some people have a attitude problem towards the people who actually make this site what it is, i was going to buy a full year gold but why the h**l should i when i get these messages over a topic saying, what would you like to see accurascale make.

In fairness (and this is coming from someone that loves his SLW Class 24) having a subforum for a manufacturer that that produces 2 models seems a bit pointless and of minimal benefit.

However that doesn't mean I think the subforums of dead companies shouldn't have something done with them (moved to archive or something).

there are others there that haven't produced much more than 2 in the main section and i think minimal is a little unfair as surly its better to produce one really good models than 10 okish ones? i have said to my wife on a few occasions if suttons said they where bringing every diesel ever made out to the standard they have up to know i would sell everything and have there models thats it.

Without Andy there is no forum.

I have been an admin on a a few forums (not all model railways), try it and see what abuse can come your way.

Me and Andy in the past :punish:

I am on friendly enough terms with Phil and he doesn't do forums.

AND BACK ON TOPIC.....

Peter, not sure if you do Facebook but this post from the SLW Facebook page confirms the Loco will be correct at the No 2 end.

TAMWORTH CASTLE PLATES IN PREPARATION

What an interesting few hours it has been this morning! Here, at SLW HQ we are pleased to be able to show a little 'extra' that will be provided with our version of well-loved 'celebrity' D7672 TAMWORTH CASTLE in retro-green (Cat No. 2532). Each model will be supplied with finely-etched stainless steel nameplates that can be applied over the top of our printed versions.

This photographs also shows the air filter detail behind the cantrail grilles (not fitted here). Very few people have so far twigged from our promotional graphics that TC and ETHEL have completely different bodyshells from the rest...

Yes, the detail fanatics will appreciated that we have, yet again, got heavily 'tooled-up' to go into battle against the Danish invaders (before you ask, it's a pub in Stamford!) These locos had collision damage and lost their headboard clips and central lamp iron at the No. 2 end, making them look a little plain-faced. Of course, we had to do the same in miniature!

For those that have asked, we have no plans for weathered versions but can recommend a number of specialists who will do this work for you.

@lwnameplates I really don't know what your problem is, but you're actually spoiling a thread on a locomotive.

Whether or not Sutton have their own subforum, people can and do talk about the product in a thread and the fact they talk about the products in a thread says it's working as it is.

Sutton are a niche company, they do small numbers of locomotives well, they are not going to be a big manufacturer as it will destroy the focus they can have on the product that they do now.

With or without it's own forum on RMWeb, Sutton will sell it's class 25s and 24s.

If you want to argue with the mods or debate this further, take it into it's own thread, don't muddy this thread with a pointless argument.

And I've broken my own rule now of arguing back and not simply reporting your post.

2. I'm not even going to bother telling you what I do do for people.

3. Please learn to use the shift key

4. Yes, you've walked into my line of fire on a Sunday (again) after painting a target on your back (again) so don't be surprised when I shoot.

5. It's none of your business about anything that has gone on historically or my current views.

Also she had a cab swap, her original No1 cab still survives and is fitted to a running loco.

Ok so SLW doesn’t have its own tab, for whatever reasons have gone on in the past between certain people.

Surely it’s up to us modellers and customers to spread the gospel, about SLW’s fantastic Rats then.

That's exactly what the chap I spoke to last week asked me to do when I ordered my 25. - 'Tell your friends about us'
