RMweb Premium Bill37 Posted March 9, 2021 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted March 9, 2021 Hi All, Tried Vallejo Red 70-926 and looks to be a pretty close match (well at least to my eyes) Bill.

Jeff Smith
I have several problems with Vallejo Model Color. It is meant for brush painting but the few colours I have tried, and the matt varnish, are too thick and dry too quickly while applying. I prefer brush painting paint really designed for spraying. The problem is the same colours are not available in both ranges. Testors acryl is much superior in brushability and crucially toughness. Vallejo scratches off very easily even when dry for days, Testors doesn't. Humbrol acrylic is in my opinion as good as if not better than Testors. For brushing several thin coats are required but it is tough and thin enough not to obscure detail. I am using BR Cream for GWR coaches and Crimson Lake for early GWR coaches. And, for USA residents it is available for mail order in the US....
