Class 423 replica

Sorry if this has been asked before! Bit of a long shot probably but I would like to build a replica of a Class 423 or similar - I am on a low budget. Firstly, is it worth converting my two Triang Blood and custard carriages with sides, ends and new wheel sets? If so I could get two more and convert them too. Would I do better to perhaps buy Dapol kits and modify those? Then of course the train needs to be powered. Is this possible and if so is there a relatively cheap way to do it? I realise that Hornby do a 4-VEP but of course it’s expensive!

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Paul

The tri ang Mk1 have separate sides, so using MJT etch sides and cabs would be possible (but they are out of stock ATM). I would then use replica under frames, as they do the B4 and B5 bogies needed, and they just clip in place. For the motor bogies, you would need the Hornby 4VEP bogies.
