D6775
Just now, georgeT said: Hi Guys, l will have to have a long hard think on the painting of the arches, l like the idea of helfords grey primer spray ? Its a good base, but the wood sucks it in, seal it with thin layers of gloss (the guide I posted use cheap white but I've used black too), then finish with the grey again. I am sure you are well practised and I am probably teaching you to suck eggs! 1
Barnaby
Yes D6775 I have used Steve's methods for painting and certainly on Phil's wood materials [Intentio] I made good progress. I find Intentio better at taking paint than the Lcut wood. I think my problem is down to sealing of the wood so I'll wait and watch always happy to learn. Probably shouldn't be trying to blend all the brick variants on ply, and various plastic sheets to look like one another. BEST 1

Ian Major
Hello George, it was a good day today. Below is a photo of the lattice bridge that you are producing scaling the lines at Helenburgh. It also shows Mark giving lessons to my grandson Noah on using the NCE Powercab. BTW Noah and his parents gave me permission to publish this. Ian Major
Thanks Andy. Here is another photo of the day. George is driving the "31" hauling my engineers train towards Helensburgh station. Conversation went along the lines of: Mark - "George, the train won't fit in that siding. The local won't be able to get away." George - "Hum." Adrian - "Arf, arf." I hope George is still talking to me after this! Ian. Edited May 2, 2021 by Ian Major

georgeT
Hello Andy, Well in the end l followed lan (47606 odin) advise (Thanks) where he used white filler for the mortar on the bricks, l sprayed the brick with red primer first, and when nice and dry applied the filler, takes some practice but it works... 2
