Mike Just the sort of daft thing that that awful “Great British Model Railway Bake Off” programme would ask modellers to incorporate, along with a stiletto shoe, a space hopper and an old bra.
25901
These two clips show the Aoshima box kits which I guess are what Bachmann have re boxed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWbp-myWjEs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCkcbb_haTA
HonestTom
If you want to go really OG with your Thunderbirds models, you need to buy up a whole load of Dapol kits. The girder bridge, the dockside crane and the signal gantry in particular. I swear, once you notice them the first time, you see them everywhere. They must have used eight of the girder bridges in Thunderbird 1's silo and at least four signal gantries in Thunderbird 2's hangar. 2
BernardTPM
Yes, I thought it quite amusing that we'd be getting small size versions of Airfix kits.

RMweb Premium ColinK Posted April 8, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 8, 2021 (edited) What a shame Bachmann hadn’t brought these out earlier. Thunderbird 4 would have looked great sitting in the penguin pool on my zoo railway. Maybe I should get a set of Thunderbirds - Tracey Island could have had a secret narrow gauge railway. Today I received a 0 gauge Lowmac kit - perhaps The Mole would make a load for it? Edited April 8, 2021 by ColinK

I reckon you could have a little narrow gauge line. But the locomotive would probably be powered by a nuclear pile or something. Not on Tracy Island, but in the movie Thunderbird 6, they visit a restaurant where the food is served by model trains - a Triang Caledonian single and a Britannia. I don't know if it counts as canonical, but I remember in the 90s Thunderbirds comics, they published a cutaway of the monorail train, and on the adjacent track was an Intercity 125. The caption explained that by the 2020s, these had been relegated to secondary duties. So there we go. We don't have shuttles to Mars or giant walking tanks, but we do have that.
